Dr. Stephen Ruso
Dr. Ruso is passionate about orthodontics and is excited to meet you! As a board certified orthodontist, he seeks to treat every patient to the highest standard of care and maintain a culture of excellence at the practice. With the latest advances, orthodontic care is now more efficient and comfortable than ever. Orthodontics also has the ability to improve one’s facial esthetics, airway/breathing, and function. All of these factors will be considered when designing your treatment.
Dr. Ruso graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a degree in psychology, where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society. After, he earned his doctorate in dental surgery from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he graduated with honors, and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
After dental school, he continued his education at the Baylor College of Dentistry where he earned a specialty degree in orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. In 2012, the American Board of Orthodontics certified Dr. Ruso with diplomate status. Dr. Ruso has published several articles on accelerated orthodontic treatment and the orthodontic treatment of infants with cleft lip and palate. He is on staff at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital as a member of the of the Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Team.
Dr. Ruso is married to his lovely wife Geri, who is an elementary school teacher. Together with their daughter, they love being a part of the Brevard community.
